Suns Shine Minus Amare

The Phoenix Suns performed flawlessly against the Houston Rockets in their 100-88 win on Wednesday. James Jones and Shawn Marion stuck to shooting from outside and avoided the physical battles they would face trying to drive the lane. With Amare Stoudemire out, the Suns had to get Yao on the move to avoid going one on one with him under the net. They used their speed and agility to keep Yao Ming from doing what he does best, defending from beneath the goal. Van Gundy eventually had to bench Yao with the Suns playing small ball. The Suns kept the ball moving fast and furious and the Rockets players running up and down the court in a high speed pursuit of the lead. This was a spectacular defensive game. We’re ready for the Pacers on Saturday, for sure.

Stoudamire Out Shoots the Suns

Wednesday’s loss to the Grizzlies was upsetting but our Phoenix Suns played well. Damon Stoudamire scored big in the fourth quarter and padded the Grizzlies lead for a finish of 115-103. Suns’ forward Shawn Marion put up 23 points and 11 boards and we scored over a hundred points. But we have to put the past behind us and get ready for Utah and San Antonio. Toronto should prove a challenging but sure win for Steve Nash and company. Our schedule is going to get pretty hard after we play the Houston Rockets but hopefully we will have already added some wins to the eight we have had so far.
